Welcome to my website. I’m so pleased you’ve stopped by. I am a fourth year graduate student in political science at Chapel Hill. I graduated from Wake Forest in 2004 (go Deacs!), and my ACC sports ties run deep, although you can find me watching pro football on most Fall Sundays. I love to cook almost as much as I love cookbooks. Stop by: reservations not required.

Last academic year, I passed my comprehensive exams (Methods and American Politics). Now, I’ve turned my focus to my dissertation (which means I mostly think about public opinion while stirring sauces in my kitchen). In early October, I defended the prospectus for my dissertation, “The Personality & Politics of Liberalism.” I am thrilled to be ABD.

Currently, I’m the lead Graduate Assistant for a very cool NSF project headed by Jim Stimson and Frank Baumgartner. We are working to integrate Stimson’s Policy Mood measure with the Policy Agendas project. Now, instead of just one global measure of Mood, we will have many policy-specific measures. In other words, we will know more than the Mood of the country, we will know the Healthcare Mood, Gay Rights Mood, Macroeconomics Mood. Stay tuned...this is a fun project.

Thanks for visiting!

I spent last Summer in Paris working on my prospectus, and then attended the Comparative Agendas Conference in Catania, Italy.

This summer the conference is in Champagne, France

C’est magnifique!
