CSS is a good conversation starter. I’m going to bring it up at my next cocktail party.
I’ve gotten rid of most of the CSS issues, just one little invalidity left. XHTML Transitional now validates. Opacity was killed and I won’t miss it.

not to harp, but you’ve got validity issues now with xhtml which you didn’t have before:

that moz-opacity is a stupid proprietary rule that someone is doing something with.

ah, I’m sure the .inside work too. I moved the form .inside of the header .inside already and floated it, which is working. I may futz with it again later.

yup, that did it. had to move the div out of the footer and put it inside the right header block, who knows why it was there instead of the header file.

Float needs a width on it to work properly, + he’d have to move that div up next to the title instead of where it is in the template.

I tried the abs. positioning thing and it works. in FF 1.5.0.4 on FC5

Do this in the
Live Search area:

#live-search{
-moz-opacity: 0.4;
position: absolute;
text-align: right;
right: 10%;
top: 4em;
width: 30%;
}

#live-search .inside{
width:100%;
min-width:0em;
max-width:85em;
margin:0 auto;
}

its that stupid .inside div that’s f*ing things up. You need to override it for the search box.

you might try changing it from absolute positioning to a float:

Instead of:

#live-search{
-moz-opacity: 0.4;
position: absolute;
text-align: right;
top: 4em;
width: 100%;
}

try:

#live-search{
-moz-opacity: 0.4;
float: right;
text-align: right;
top: 4em;
}

It might work.
