What is the goal of
this conference?
This conference provides students and
post-docs with the opportunity to speak on an area of interest within
probability. Additionally, there will be three keynote speakers to
introduce recent developments in probability, ultimately encouraging
participants' interest in the field. With an audience composed primarily of
students, the friendly and informal atmosphere fosters constructive discussions,
which promotes innovative research.
Who can participate?
This conference is organized by graduate
students from UNC-Chapel Hill and Duke University for graduate students or
post-doctoral fellows.
Will there be
funding?
Yes, but most
likely not enough to support everybody. Please ask your
own department for financial support first. We plan to support travel
expenses (up to $300) for as many students as possible.
Will there be
lodging?
While lodging will not
be financially supported, there may be a possibility of staying with students
from UNC or Duke, depending on the number of participants. When you fill out the
registration form, indicate whether you want to apply for funding. Again, there
is no guarantee for funding, but we will try our best to support you. Note that
priority will be given to those who give a talk.
