I had the opportunity to compete in the 3rd District American Advertising Federation National Student Advertising Career Conference. Here we are after we presented our proposal for the Dodge Neon. Starting with the back row, left to right, me, Reid Tucker, Lisa Swayne; front row, left to right, Anne Hammond and Scott Higgins. The competition was a valuable learning experience. It was a little stressful, but we had a lot of fun in the end.
If you know anything about Chapel Hill, you know that we love Halloween. Each year, everyone goes to Franklin Street to find the best costumes. This picture was taken Halloween 1994 before we went to Franklin Street. I am dressed as a ladybug and my brother, Alexander, is dressed as a blue Chilly Willy. Halloween 1995, I dressed as a match. I wore a tan sweater and matching pants. I also wore a black turtleneck and a red hat with paper flames on it. A lot of people actually asked me if I was a firefighter. This past year, I was love letters. I laminated l, o, v and e and pinned them all over me. It was definately a conversation piece. Anyway, Halloween in Chapel Hill is probably one of my favorite times of the entire year (except for when we win the NCAA Championship). I think Halloween should be at least twice a year, maybe three times. So if you are ever searching for something to do next Halloween, keep it in mind. But BEWARE! In July 1995, a town ordinance was passed prohibiting any open containers in the town of Chapel Hill.
This is our first family photo since I had braces seven years ago. I love this picture. What is my brother doing? (Clockwise from the left: Alexander, my younger brother; me; Jerry, my father; Yvonne, my mother; and, Edith Merritt, my grandmother)
