Below I listed some of my favorite sites on the Internet, you might enjoy them too!
| 1.
http://www.cosmopolitan.com
|
This great site is really just the magazine online! It's helpful because you don't have to subscribe or buy the magazine at the store. You can read at your own convenience all the interesting articles, quizzes, and advice on fashion, beauty, health, your job, and men! Also, the site has links to other magazines, such as Good Housekeeping, Marie Claire, and Redbook, which is nice. |
| 2. http://www.marthastewart.com | This site gives the opportunity to both shop and get great information for free! There is an option to shop from the online catalog for anything at all for your home or garden and you can even order flowers to be delivered. The flower arrangements and beautiful and stylish and surprisingly not overpriced. They are a nice alternative to the blah, ordinary bouquets you normally find online. Under the "Learn" link, you can get all kinds of fabulous ideas for cooking and recipes, entertaining, gardening, crafts, holidays, weddings, and beautifying your home. It's fun if you need a unique idea for a special occasion. |
| 3. http://www.newsandobserver.com | This is my favorite source for local news and to find out what's going on in the community. You can view movie listings, place ads, find out the weather forecast, access archives, and even get a traffic report. There are also sections with national and world news, so you can learn what is going on outside of the Triangle, too. |
| 4. http://www.pinkmonkey.com | This site is fantastic if you need some help reading a book or a play. It has 357 literature summaries/book notes online and 1,800 classic texts. Most of the book notes are free, however, some of the downloads you have to purchase. There are also online textbooks for 15 different subjects, helpful study links/help, review questions, research links, and SAT Prep/Testing. |
| 5. http://www.epicurious.com | This really is the world's greatest recipe collection. There is loads of fantastic information about eating, drinking, great restaurants, and most of all, recipes. What is wonderful is that with each recipe there are reviews posted about them from people who have actually tried the recipe, so you can see if the recipe was difficult or simple and if it turned out well. There are many links to other gourmet sites and also a "shop" option. There are even videos and slideshows you can view! It's great for simple meals, fabulous feasts, and yummy cocktails and drinks! |
