Well, school
has begun again. Its good to be back from my summer break. Although
I have to admit, I had one of the best summers of my life. I did some
incredible things and met some amazing people. Here's a short breakdown
of what actually happened this summer... I started it off with the FCA
Beach Retreat, which was a blast. There was over 130 college kids from
Carolina at Ocean Isle Beach. This is definetly one of the coolest events
I've been to. If you haven't been, you have to go. After that, I chilled
in Winston for a while, tried to get a job (by the way, don't ever be
a caterer) and just hung out with folks I hadn't seen in a while. For
the last week of June I was a camp counselor for my church's youth camp.
While that was fun, it was very tiring, as I got the honorable duty
of looking after the Jr High guys. Then I was off to Sharptop Cove in
Georgia to do summer staff for 3 weeks! I was on the ropes team and
it was hard, but a lot of fun. Then I was back in Winston again, working
8 to 5 everyday (don't ever do that either). I also sold my car, and
for those of you who know my car, I can't believe someone actually bought
it! So, I was careless for about 2 weeks, believing God was going to
bring me to just the right car...and he did. I have a phat new ride
and I'll be posting pictures soon. I can't say what it is right now,
because not everyone here at Carolina has seen it, but it's boo-yah!
So anyhow, that was my summer, it probably doesn't sound that exciting,
but it really was. The best part you ask...well, it would have to be
the amazing people from all over the world that I met this summer.

I went to
Williamsburg last week with my family for our vacation. Most of you
are probably thinking of your family vacations and how good or bad they
are. Well, ours went pretty well. I really enjoyed Old Williamsburg
and definetly recommend it to anyone who hasn't been there. Of course
Busch Gardens is nice too. Oh yeah, we also went to Virginia Beach for
a couple of days. It was a nice beach but the water was freezing. I
didn't realize it but 2.5 Million people live in a 20 mile radius of
Virginia Beach. Crazy, you don't think of it as a real big town.
I
also added my second book review. This one is on John Grisham's latest
book The Brethren. This book
was just not what I was expecting. Read more here.
I
have to admit, after reading John Grisham's last book The Testament,
I was really...

I
added my first book review. I reviewed Of Knights and Maidens by Jeff
and Danielle Myers. I is a book about courting and dating relationship.
I really enjoyed it, I recommend it to everyone. Read the full review
here...
I
have to admit, when I think of the word "courting" I kinda
laugh. It seems like one of those things that...
Wow it's been
a long time since I've last updated the old webpage. Well exams came
up and I was busy with school and stuff. You know. But frankly, I was
just lazy and there wasn't much to talk about. Well, I'm back home in
Winston-Salem and I'm going to try to update the page more often. I'm
also going to start a new section. I'm going to be writing book reviews
for all the books that I read. I will also put the current book I'm
reading on the page so everyone will know. The first review should be
up shortly. I also have some new pictures developed that I'll be placing
on the photos page.

Big update
today! I added about 7 pictures from Halloween '99. This was my first
one in Chapel Hill, so of course me, my 8 closest friends, and about
60,000 other random people descended upon Franklin St. to celebrate.
I'd have to give the best costume to the 20 foot Penis, the Incredible
Hulk guy that could have killed me with his left pinky, and the guy
who looked just like Brett Farve. Check it out here...

Southern
High School!!!
Yep,
that's where I'm going to be ministering for the next 3 years. I'm so
excited about it! My team is great. Evan Travis and Kara Gleason are
also on my team. So, if you remember to, please pray for Southern High
School, our work there, and for the hearts of the kids there. Thanks!
I
also put a picture of some of the guys on my friends page. Check it
out here...

Ok, so its
been a really long time since I've updated. Sorry about that. But I've
been really busy with school and stuff like that. Well I have to give
a shout out to my friend Tiffany Fischer who was in a play called After
the Fall. This was a great show. I really liked the acting and the I
thought the whole production was great. Unfortunately this was the last
night to see it, so if you haven't seen it....

Final
Four Road Trip 2000

This
is a clipping from the Indianapolis
Star newspaper, a widely read paper in the state of Indiana.
Before the game while we were going crazy and attracting all sort of
attention, I noticed this reporter trying to get my attention. Well,
turns out this was our opportunity to get in the paper. Not only that,
but we made the local news in Indianapolis and will be on www.roadtriptohoopla.com
in a video clip.

Well,
we did it; we went to the Final Four in Indianapolis! Curtis, Brian,
Mirza, Eric, Graham, Omar, and myself traveled 11 hours and countless
miles to the RCA Dome. We painted our bodies in complete Carolina Blue
and went crazy outside the stadium before the game. We even were lucky
enough to attract a reporter from the widely distributed
Indianapolis Star. I have to say that I have no regrets whatsoever.
Even though Carolina came up a little short, it was still the opportunity
of a lifetime. We cheered hard, met many many cool people, and had serious
male bonding. We couldn't have asked for more.
Also,
some of our friends went to the Final Four as well. No, not Brian or
Mike who sold their lower level tickets for $2000 a piece, but Drew
Hill and Charles Terry who were followed by www.hoopstv.com
for the weekend. Check them out here...

Trip - Drew Hill, Charles Terry, and others
Not
only them, but our one and only Claire Whitehil who as of 10:26 Monday
night has yet to return from Indy was in the online version of the Indianapolis
Star. Read the article here and look for her quotes.

By
the way, I hope the University of Florida, its Basketball players, and
Billy Donovan rot in Hell, cause they are thug-life pricks, who only
play streetball and deal drugs to their ganster friends. Go Michigan

TODAY WE LEAVE
FOR INDIANAPOLIS!!! Everybody watch CBS and ESPN this weekend and tape
them if you can. Look for 5 white guys with our chest painted in the
upper deck. I will have silver hair and Brian will be wearing a basketball
for a hat. We will be the most obnoxious people there! We are bringing
flags, banners, and lots of body paint! Ok, look for us and record the
game. There will be a full report when we get back. GO HEELS!!!

Check out
my good friend Hal's new Theology Page. I thought the kid was smart
before, but now, wow! I didn't think people in college actually thought
about this stuff! But in all seriousness, these "papers" on
theology that Hal has written are really good stuff. Good discussion
information and of course something to think about.

I added some
cool new pictures of some of my friends to the Friends

He has some pretty cool polls to vote on. Vote for the Melissa Stark
banner and Bullock's Barbeque!

I've been listening to the new Jennifer Knapp CD lately. It is really
good. For everyone who enjoys good music should check this CD out. She
has a gutsy Midwest folk type of sound with extremely well written lyrics.

A lot has
gone on since I last updated the page. First and foremost Carolina Beat
Tulsa! That's right unless you have been living under a log, you know
that Carolina is going to the Final Four!!! This is their 6th trip in
10 years and their 3rd in 4 years! After everything we've been through
this season, its absolutely unbelievable. To all the State people complaining
that we got into the NCAAs...Ha Ha Ha! And to all the Duke people...I
guess the difference between Winning and Whining is 8 Miles!!!
Check
out my boy Fulton's Final Four web page
Now
for the even better news...I GOT TICKETS TO THE FINAL FOUR! That's right
we got student tickets through a random drawing at the Smith Center
Ticket Office. So far it's me, Eric, Curtis, Brian, Mirza, and Graham
that are going. For everyone outside of Chapel Hill, that's my roommate,
my suitemates, and my good friend Curtis and his roommate. Everyone
look for 6 guys painted in all Carolina Blue during our game on Saturday
and quite possibly Monday. If anyone wants me to pick them up a souvenir,
let me know ;)

GO
HEELS!!!!! I hope everyone saw the game today. It was absolutely unbelievable.
I thought there was no way we were going to win after Haywood fouled
out with 9 minutes left. But as thuggish as he is...our senior leader
Ed Cota brought us back. And how about the awesome play by freshman
Joseph Forte! And Julius Peppers coming through with the clutch free
throws. The picture to the right is when Ed Cota hit the layup at the
end to put us up by 2. I included some links at the bottom for more
information on the exciting game.
