The FrameCounter Utility

In VidViewer's multiple choice and cloze exercises, hint buttons allow the student to hear just the portion of the sound or video which is relevant to the current question. For this to work, we need a way to tell VidViewer which portion to play; in other words, where to start and end the segment. This is done with "frame" numbers: we tell VidViewer to play from frame X to frame Y. FrameCounter allows you to determine which frame numbers correspond to a given segment.

If you haven't yet typed out the script, use FrameCounter as a convenient way to create your transcription by alternately playing short segments and typing in your word processor. When your script is complete, it's helpful to print it so that you can jot down the frame numbers for the beginning and end of each sentence or relevant segment.
