Following is the basic outline of movement training for the PATP:
Empty-handed Stage Combat
A beginning sequence in empty-handed stage combat. The First Year students learn the basics of stage fight choreography and train in some of the more common fight techniques they're likely to need. The semester ends with the students creating and choreographing their own fights for an invited audience.

Stress Mastery
First Year PATP students learn how the stress syndrome works in human beings and how they can identify their own patterns. Using a wide variety of mind and body techniques, they learn new stress reducing strategies.

Juggling
First Year actors in the PATP learn basic eye-hand coordination, balance, focus, visualization skills.
Second Semester, First Year
Animal Study and Characterization
The study of animal movement. Through imitation of animals we learn new locomotor skills and use animal imagery to apply to characterization in performance.
Second Semester, First Year
Mask Work and Transformation
Neutral, Expressive and Half Mask are studied. The entire Second Year of movement class is devoted to training in Mask as a way:
1) to identify personal psychophysical patterns of use,
2) to begin to moderate those patterns when they do not serve artistic needs,

to discover new patterns that can be used in the Transformation Process to create dramatic characterizations.

Ki-Aikido for the Actor
The application of Ki-Aikido techniques and psychological framing to MindBody coordination.
First Semester, Third Year
Taijiquan for the Actor
Based on the Wu style of Taijiquan, the Third Year Actors study this complete mind-body-spirit training.
