About me

In 2005 I obtained a licenciatura (B.S.) in economics from the University of Minho in Portugal. I joined the graduate program at UNC in 2007 and I defended my Ph.D. dissertation “Essays on Applied Information Economics Theory” in the Summer of 2013. I will graduate in December of 2013.  I am currently an adjunct instructor at the University of Mississippi, where I co-teach a class on Calculus of Decision Making.

I will participate in this year’s job market and will be available for interviews at the 2014 ASSA meetings in Philadelphia.

My current research focuses on executive compensation and on the organization of the financial audit and consulting markets. In both topics, I  study the role that informational asymmetries play in shaping market outcomes.
