Announcements!
12/1/99
Our meeting during final
exams week will be Wednesday, 12/15 from 4-6:30 p.m. in Student Union
210. During this time, we will complete course evaluations and letters
to future students, plus perform the three final debates. Pastries will
be provided; feel free to bring other refreshments.
FYI: Lynne will be
out of town 12/3-12/14. I will read email a couple of times during that
period, but will not be able to respond as promptly as usual.

Debate
Evaluation Guidelines are available on-line! Please review these
in preparation for your debate.
11/4/99
Now is the time
to research your debate topic and position!
Try to find a variety of evidence (as outlined in Rieke & Sillars)
to support your position--so that you are ready for anything when you
debate.
10/27/99
The debate assignment
is available on-line. You will let me
know your group's topic by Monday, 11/1 and will bring your group's
proposition and positions to me on Wednesday, 11/3. Note: You will have
a few minutes in class on Wednesday to finalize your topic and proposition
before submitting them to me.

next week: Rieke & Sillars (pp. 123-128 in course-pak) and your
choice of either:
Puddington and
Williams (2 1 page articles)
