Cara's birthday, Saturday June 30. Danny organized a picknick at Lake Jordan, Ebenezer Church Recreation Area. Cara and Danny head out around 1:00 and took some time with each other. As soon as they arived a thunderstorm crashed on the lake, and everybody ran to their cars. But not Cara and Danny who had constructed a little tent with the Mistral Windsurfing sail and heroically braved the elements. Lucky them, it cleared up soon and turned out to be a beautirful day. Danny took Cara out in the water on the back of the board despite the lack of wind. They had a beer, swam, and read. Around 4:30 they were spotted by the first guests, and the party swelled soon to good and fun proportions. A relaxed BBQ in which John Sr. BBQ sauce really made the difference you need for a good BBQ party, a game of volleybal in the sand, and yes, a pinjada party, brought by Jodi and Nathaniel, filled with candy, finished of a festive day. Believe me, Cara smashed the hell out of that thing with her baseball swing, now accurate and unforgivenly fast after the practices with her dad. 

At 9:00 p the party left. Nath, Jodi and Milton had one last surprise in their hat: they had decorated the front porch of our house and left Cara's birthday cake in the kitchen. Tired but satisfied we finished it of and called it a day. 

The next Sunday Cara cut Danny's hair. The wind blows and he could not sit still. His hair became immaculately short. They decided to continue the birthday, making it a birthweekend. Cara postponed important CPC work, focusing on merely one task. The BBQ was packed once again, and together they headed back to the lake. Same spot. Next day. The party continued. The wind was much better than the day before, and Danny actually got a few fast rides out of it, and some nice shots. Mistakenly having brought Turkey dogs, the BBQ still turned out to be a success, once again due to John Sr. now widely famous homemade BBQ sauce. So hot, it does not matter anymore what you eat! (no, joke, it is actually quite tasty). 

Tired, Cara and Danny ended the birthday weekend watching Cast Away with Tom Hanks. Deserted on an island in the Pacific. Cara talked with Johnny on the phone. Shadow had a nap. Danny sat and ate ice cream. They had to get up early the next day, which happens to be today.
