ARAB
MEMBERS OF KNESSET (ISRAELI PARLIAMENT):
Arab
MK Azmi Bishara (from the Balad
Party; ran for Prime Minister in the last election):
-After the killing of three Israeli
soldiers, he called Hizbollah (Lebanon-based terror group that attacks
civilians in Israel's northern cities) "a brave
organization that has taught Israel a lesson." (Bishara's
punishment: He was unanimously reelected as party chairman by 500 delighted
Israeli-Arab delegates who heard him give this statement)
-On June 8, 2000, at a 'victory convention' in the Israeli-Arab town
of Um el Fahm, he announced to a crowd of Arab listeners that "The
Hizbullah has won, and for the first time since 1967 we have tasted the
sweet taste of victory. The Hizbullah should be proud of their achievement
and of humiliating Israel." (Here Bishara unambiguosly
states that both he and all Arab-Israelis ('we') identify most closely
with a terror organization that was responsible for the murders of dozens
of Israelis, both soldiers and civilians.)
-----------------------------------------------------------
MK Hashem Mahameed
(United Arab List party):
-During the SCUD missile attacks of 1991 on Israeli
civilian populations by Saddam Hussein, said that the Iraqi leader had
"restored the pride of the Arab nation and of
Islam."
-Also, on December 24, 1992 in Gaza, he said: "So
long as the Israeli occupation continues, so will the struggle; and by
struggle we don't mean only stones, but a battle with all the means at
our disposal."
(By a mere vote of 54-48, Knesset did no more
than suspend his parliamentary privilege of unrestricted access to all
areas of Israel. Guess which parties made up the majority of the 48 votes
who did not think this Member of Knesset needed to be punished? Even more
absurd, he was later appointed to the highly sensitive Foreign Affairs
and Defense Committee position by the left-wing Barak government.)
-----------------------------------------------------------
MK Talab El-Sana
(United Arab List party):
-During the Israeli withdrawal from southern Lebanon
in late May, 2000, he demanded that Israel not provide help to the fleeing
SLA soldiers (these are Lebanese Christians who allied themselves with
Israel in the effort to repel Hizbullah terrorists), because they are
"traitors who committed crimes. They should be
tried in Lebanon."
(El-Sana apparently believes that anyone who
aids the State of Israel is a traitor and a criminal; as it is doubtful
that he would bestow upon himself either of those two titles, we can only
assume that he does not consider himself one who provides any support
to the Jewish State - and yet he is supposed to be a public servant.)
-----------------------------------------------------------
MK Abd el-Wahab Darawsha
(former head of the Arab 'Democratic' Party - one of the most powerful
Arab Members of Knesset, and a close colleague of Yitzchak Rabin):
-He publicly called for the establishment of a 'Palestinian'
state on both sides of the Green Line (this is the internationally-recognized
border of the State of Israel - even the nations that are apologists for
the Arab terrorist regimes recognize Israeli sovereignty within the Green
Line).
- In July 1998, he 'courageously' remarked, "Any
Arab that serves the Israeli army is a disgusting criminal. We reject
all forms of national service on behalf of Israel, because we are part
of the 'Palestinian' people." On the floor of the Knesset itself
he shared his belief that, "An Arab who serves
in the IDF is a mercenary and a collaborator."
(Again, a Member of Knesset is supposed to be
a selfless public servant, working on behalf of the entire State of Israel.
Naturally, nothing was done in response to these statements, either to
condemn or sanction Darwasha, or even to question his loyalty.)
-----------------------------------------------------------
MK
Ahmed Tibi, from the Arab Ta'al party, is an advisor to Yassir
Arafat. He is famous for such patriotic statements as,
"You Israelis are preparing
your shelters, while we 'Palestinians' are cleaning our roofs."
(This reference to the celebratory dancing on the roofs by 'Palestinian'
townspeople during the SCUD missile attacks by Iraq in 1991; apparently
Ahmed hopes to dance again while foreign missiles fall on Israeli civilians.)
-----------------------------------------------------------
Upshot:
These Arab-'Israeli' politicians are paid by the Jewish taxpayers of Israel
for their salaries and perks. The lack of tangible legal response to their
blatantly seditious statements and activities confirms the impotency or
unwillingness of the Israeli government to maintain reasonable standards
of loyalty to the Jewish State and its ideals by its legislators, Jewish,
Arab, or other.

A-Shara
|
At
the Grand Mosque in Mecca, on Thursday, March 16, 2000, Sheikh
Abdel Rahman al-Sudais, at times choking back tears of emotion,
urged the world's Muslims to unite and shun Western traditions and materialism.
Warning that "globalization" could lead to "Western domination of the
Islamic nation," he called on God to bless Muslims and destroy the enemies
of Islam:
"Oh, God, destroy the aggressors,
the Zionists (Israelis)... Save al-Aqsa Mosque (in Jerusalem) from the
claws of Zionists and Jews," he
said.
-----------------------------------------------------------
"We
must reassess all those studies which make a distinction between "The
Jew" and "The Israeli"....and we must redefine the meaning of the word
`Jew' so that we do not imagine that we are speaking of a divinely revealed
religion or a persecuted minority. Consider the great man Hitler, may
God have mercy on him who was the wisest of those who confronted this
problem and who out of compassion for humanity tried to exterminate every
Jew, but despaired of curing this cancerous body of mankind."
-Dr. Yaha al-Rakhawi in 'Al Ahram' (official
Egyptian government newspaper), quoted by Prof. Louis Rene Beres, "Hating
the Israelis as Jews: Why Territorial Surrender can never bring Peace
to Israel," web post, "Gamla," 02/08/00
-----------------------------------------------------------
"...even
the Baath Party, of which I have the honor of being a member, understands
that restoring Palestine in its entirety is a long-term strategic goal,
that cannot be achieved in one stage... The first stage is the stage of
restoring the occupied lands [of 1967] and of guaranteeing the national
inalienable right of the Palestinian Arab people."
- Syrian Foreign Minister Farouk A-Shara,
speaking to the Arab Writers Association in Syria on Jan. 27, 2000
-----------------------------------------------------------
In a current Egyptian textbook
of "Arab Islamic History" used widely in teacher training colleges (in
a country "at peace" with Israel), the sentiments apparently common to
all Arabs of the region are expressed: "The
Jews are always the same, every time and everywhere. They will not live
save in darkness. They contrive their evils clandestinely. They fight
only when they are hidden, because they are cowards....The Prophet [Mohammed]
enlightened us about the right way to treat them, and succeeded finally
in crushing the plots that they had planned. We today must follow this
way and purify 'Palestine' from their filth."
-----------------------------------------------------------
"There
is no forgiveness for whoever avoids the jihad in the cause of Allah for
the purification of Palestine from the Jews"
-From a Syrian Islamic Education
textbook for sixth grade students

ARAFAT
AND FRIENDS:
"We
'Palestinians' will take over everything, including all of Jerusalem....All
the rich Jews who will get compensation will travel to America....We of
the PLO will now concentrate all our efforts on splitting Israel psychologically
into two camps. Within five years we will have six to seven million Arabs
living in the West Bank and in Jerusalem....You understand that we plan
to eliminate the State of Israel and establish a purely 'Palestinian'
State....I have no use for Jews; they are and remain Jews."
- 'Palestinian' leader Yassir
Arafat, on January 30, 1996, addressing 40 Arab diplomats at the
Grand Hotel in Stockholm. He was speaking under the title, "The Impending
Total Collapse of Israel."
-----------------------------------------------------------
"I
swear by that who holds in His Hands the Soul of Muhammad! I indeed wish
to go to war for the sake of Allah! I will assault and kill, assault and
kill, assault and kill."
-from the official Charter of Hamas
('Palestianian' terrorist organization)
-----------------------------------------------------------
Speaking to a rally of his Fatah movement in Ramallah on November 16,
1998, Yasser Arafat
said,
"When
we chose the peace of the brave [the Oslo and Wye Accords], we chose it
with trust in the Prophet who agreed to the treaty of Hudibiyya..."
Mohammed,
the 7th century founder of Islam, once signed a 10-year peace treaty with
the enemy tribe of Koreish. However, after only two years into the treaty,
Mohammed's military position improved whereupon he tore up this "Hudibiyya
Agreement" and slaughtered the Koreishites.
-----------------------------------------------------------
"After
Hizbullah's victory in Lebanon, a new era in Palestinian-Israeli relations
has begun: It has now been proven that violent resistance is the correct
way... The Hamas military wing knows what to do... Thousands of Palestinians
are willing to die as martyrs..."
-Hamas
terrorist organization spiritual leader Sheikh Ahmed
Yassin, May 30, 2000

ARABS
AND TAXES:
In
an early 1979 memorandum to Finance Minister Simha Ehrlich, MK Meir
Cohen wrote,
"The
Arab sector in the country never paid and does not pay taxes. . .in relation
to its economic capacity and income. Traveling on the new road between
Kiryat Arba and Nazareth, one sees that in the villages on the side, where
ten years ago stood huts, there have now grown villas, more luxurious
than those of Savion. . . The tax people know of entire villages where,
except for workers in regular jobs, no one pays taxes, despite the fact
that the living standard in those villages rose enormously"
-----------------------------------------------------------
"The
Arabs make up 15 percent of the state's inhabitants, but pay only 1.5
percent of its taxes. According to Finance Ministry people, this is ludicrous
and in no way mirrors the conditions that the majority of Arabs whose
income today is much larger than [that of] the Jewish residents of development
towns."
-From an article that appeared in the Israel daily Ha'aretz, on
March 16, 1976
-----------------------------------------------------------
And in Yediot Aharonot
(May 9, 1980), the reason why little is done about the situation:
"In the Arab
sector levies are not made on property in the event of tax delinquency
for fear of violent reactions in the Arab villages and because of hostile
public opinion. . . "
-----------------------------------------------------------
Apparently, nothing had been done about the preceding, for as Yediot Aharonot
reported four years earlier (June 13, 1976),
"The
heads of the Likud faction in the Knesset dealt last weekend with the
question of Arab citizens who have stopped paying taxes. From the discussion
it was learned that since March many Arab citizens have stopped paying
taxes in the [towns] of Tayba, Tira, Kfar Kassem, Jaljilia, and others
. . . "

JEWS
FOR ISRAEL:
The Israeli novelist
Aharon Megged notes:
"We have witnessed a phenomenon
which probably has no parallel in history; an emotional and moral identification
by the majority of Israel's intelligentsia with people openly committed
to our annhilation."
-----------------------------------------------------------
Zeev
Jabotinsky wrote in 1911:
"...Nobody is old enough to call on
us to answer. We came before them and will leave after them. We are what
we are, we are good for ourselves, we will not change and we do not want
to."
-----------------------------------------------------------
"I
don’t know anyone who has as much civilian Jewish blood on his hands as
Arafat since the Nazis’ time."
- Former Israeli Defense Minister and current head of the Likud party,
Ariel Sharon, October 1995
-----------------------------------------------------------
Concerning the effects of the ongoing "peace process" on
the security of the State of Israel, Lt.-Col. (res.)
Moshe Hager commented (June 2000):
"The
goal of a peace agreement is usually to prevent war. In this case, unfortunately,
the opposite is to be expected. These agreements [with 'Palestinian' and
other Arabs] create a situation where it is worthwhile for the enemy to
fight us, because he will have the ability to easily be victorious. The
Palestinians are speaking of adopting the same tactics used by Hizbullah
in Lebanon, and they will be able to reach the fences of our communities.
Will the State of Israel be able to deal with the massacre of a community,
G-d forbid? ... All additional concessions will create a situation whereby
Israel will be defeated without a battle. Security regulations prevent
me from revealing further details. But it is clear that Israel will stand
before mortal danger. "
[From an article quoted by Arutz Sheva, Israel National
Radio]
-----------------------------------------------------------
In
the words of four distinguished Israeli (res.) generals, speaking at a
Washington DC conference on July 17, 1995:
"Israel's presence on the Golan Heights
constitutes the optimal strategic balance with Syria and insurance against
a massive Syrian attack. The IDF's proximity to Damascus is also a guarantee
against a Syrian missile launch into Israel's rear. Any change in this
balance would lessen Israel's deterrent against potential Syrian aggression
and jeopardize the quiet and stability that have characterized the Golan
since 1974."

JEWS FOR ???:
Justice Minister
Yossi Beilin (Labor/One Israel Party), a leading figure in the
negotiations with the Palestinians, told the Israeli security cabinet
on June 21, 2000:
"I would agree to a Palestinian flag waving
atop the Temple Mount if that is the price for a permanent agreement
with the Palestinian Authority." [quoted by Arutz Sheva, Israel National
Radio]
This is the kind of person to whom the government
is entrusting our most precious cultural and religious resources? Where
is the pride of the leaders of the Jewish state?

THIRD
PARTIES TO THE CONFLICT:
Martin
Luther King, Jr., on
Zionism and the Right of the Jewish People to the Land of Israel:
"Zionism
is nothing less than the dream and ideal of the Jewish people returning
to live in their own land. The Jewish people, Scripture tells us, once
enjoyed a flourishing Commonwealth in the Holy Land. From this they were
expelled by the Roman tyrant. . . Driven from their homeland, their nation
in ashes, forced to wander the globe, the Jewish people time and again
suffered the last of whichever tyrant happened to rule over them. The
Negro people. . . know what it is to suffer the torment of tyranny under
rulers not of our choosing. . . How easy it should be, for anyone who
holds dear this inalienable right of all mankind [to live in sovereignty
in one's own country], to understand and support the right of the Jewish
people to live in their ancient land of Israel. All men of good will exult
in the fullfillment of God's promise, that his people should return in
joy to rebuild their plundered land."
-----------------------------------------------------------
"The
State of Israel erased from the brow of the Jew the mark of the eternal
wanderer. For the first time in 2000 years, the Jew was seen as an equal
among equals. Now you come and with your own hands abandon the homeland
of the Jewish people, a homeland which was paid for with the lives of
millions of your brothers in the crematoria of Auschwitz and Treblinka.
The Jewish soul you have already sold to the devil. Now you are busy tearing
up the body, or more correctly, what has been left of it. Already you
prepare for exile. In a grotesque distortion, with your own hand you print
the mark of Cain on your brow - not for having murdered your brother,
but because he has murdered you. The voice of your blood, not the voice
of his, is what cries from the ground."
-Gustav Hendrikssen,
Professor emeritus of Bible Studies at Sweden's Uppsala University, addressed
to the Israeli Left
-----------------------------------------------------------
French Catholic theologian Jacques Maritain
noted:
"Israel...is to be found at the very heart
of the world's structure, stimulating it, exasperating it, moving it.
Like an alien body, like an activating ferment injected into the mass,
it gives the world no peace, it bars slumber, it teaches the world to
be discontented and restless as long as the world has not God, it stimulates
the movement of history...It is the vocation of Israel which the world
hates. "
(As quoted by Dennis Prager and Joseph Telushkin
in 'Why the Jews?')
