That's me!
My name is Drew Matthews, and I'm a senior at the University
of North Carolina.
I graduate in May 2003 with an electronic communication degree from the School
of Journalism
and Mass Communication. I can't believe my school career is quickly coming
to an end.
I haven't started job searching yet, but when I do, it will be in sports broadcasting.
I hope to
work in some capacity in the sports department at a television station.
That's
the banner for Carolina Week. It's the television news show produced at the
Journalism school, and it's where I spend all my time. Click on the banner

I'm the sports director, which means I'm the head of the sports department.
Our sports
coverage centers around the University, and we enjoy covering all the varsity
sports at Carolina,
not just football and men's basketball.
We've done a lot of great stories over the year ranging from a track
star that also
works at a bakery to the resignation
of Matt Doherty as head coach of the
men's basketball team.
It's been a lot of fun and a pleasure to cover athletics at the University
I love.
