Then you may be eligible to participate. SCIT is a group psychotherapy that teaches strategies for getting along with other people and improving the social lives of persons with schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder. Half of the participants in this study will receive 20 sessions of SCIT group therapy over a five-month period and their usual treatment services. SCIT will be provided to you free of charge. Half of the participants will receive their usual treatment services. All participants can be paid up to $200 to complete three assessments. These will involve evaluations of symptoms, cognitive and social functioning. Each of these assessments will take about 3 hours. The assessments will be done approximately 4-5 months apart.
