Early morning -- Geez! It seems to get
harder and harder to get up every day, though actually sleeping in seems darned
near impossible! Not only do I find sleeping in more difficult as I get
older but our 6-year old son remains an early (very early) riser and usually
daddy absolutely must get up once he's up -- or at least so he seems to believe.
I work for the Development Office at the the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill as the Applications Development Manager, leading a team of software developers and a DBA in support of the university's Development Office and the UNC General Alumni Association. We are beginning the challenging task of developing a new operational system to replace our aging mainframe OLTP system. I am a native of North Carolina and a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (BA, MA).
My areas of expertise include (but are not necessarily limited to):
Mid-day break -- A chance to relax and contemplate the morning's
achievements while talking things over with a colleague. I work at home
nearly full time these days so my work schedule can be a little
non-conventional. Talking with a colleague these days usually means email,
telephone or some other electronic device. Telecommuting is great but you
have to make and effort to get out of the house and actually talk to a real
person once in a while.
Some of my hobbies and interest include:
Some of my favorite Web sites:
Day's end, time to go home -- The moon is rising and the
day is nearly done. I'll probably start howling if I don't get out of here soon.
Just a little longer and I can turn off this machine and go down stairs to
my wife and son.
