Our Wild Adventures!

Our latest adventure was a Duran Duran concert in Myrtle Beach, SC.  The concert was at the House of Blues, out at Barefoot Landing.  We had the best time ever.  We were standing on the front row for the concert, and boy is that a great view!   Anyway, after the concert, we waited outside for the band members to come out, especially Simon, Kim's favorite.   When they did come out, they did not allow time for pictures, and autographs like we had hoped, so we were heading back to the car a little disappointed.  When we got back to the car, we saw the limo bus, and decided to follow it...we went back to the hotel where the band was staying, and succeeded in getting a picture of Simon, and his autograph.  We missed Nick, but Simon was the ultimate goal!  Here is the picture of us with Simon.

My sister, Kim and I love the outdoors, and a few years ago we discovered white water rafting.  We traveled to West Virginia and rafted the Gaulley River.  The company we went with was ACE White water.  The Gaulley River is ranked #7 in the world and #2 in the country after the Colorado River!  There are over 100 Class I through Class V+ rapids.  Class VI being the upper limit of navigability.  If you are ready for adventure the Gaulley River is for you!!

Before our adventure down the Gaulley river, Kim and I experienced our first Jimmy Buffett concert!  I hear many of you saying, well those of you that have never experienced a Buffett concert, that going to a concert is not an adventure.  I beg to differ in this case because Kim and I decided to "Bungee for Buffett".  Some group had a bungee jump set up on a crane and Kim and I were just crazy enough to try it!  I must admit it was a lot of fun, although I do not think I would try it again.  Click here to find out more about Bungee Jumping at the The Bungy Zone!

As if Bungee jumping was not crazy enough the next year Kim and I decided to try our hand at skydiving!  This adventure put bungee jumping to shame.  Skydive Carolina in Chester, SC is where we did our first, and to this day, only jump.  The style of jump we performed was tandem.  This is where you are hooked to a professional, and are basically just along for the ride.   We jumped from a height of 13,000 feet and did a full minute of free fall.  It was awesome!  Here is a link to a facility in North Carolina near Raleigh where you can learn to skydive.

Our latest wild adventure occurred at Camp Legeune, NC.  We went for Jayne Wayne Day!  This was an awesome experience...we have truly gained a greater appreciation of what Marines do everyday for our protection.  I will be posting the pictures for Jayne Wayne day shortly...I am running out of space on the web!

Still working!!
