The Feynman Story
Feynman was born in 1994 in the little town of Spring Hope in eastern North Carolina. One of seven children, she knew her parents only briefly, for they gave her up for adoption at an early age. Happily, she was adopted into a loving family and, despite her early troubles, was raised to a happy, productive adulthood. She still lives with her adopted family, which now includes her nephew, Toby. At one time classified by a teacher as a "special education" student, Feynman went on to graduate her obedience class with honors. Two weeks before her second birthday, she passed her Canine Good Citizen examination. The experience taught her the value of a good education, something that has become one of the central issues of her campaign. Although she has never held political office, the esteem in which she is held by her colleagues and friends -- and the lack of another viable candidate -- made her a natural selection when the Slumber Party held its first convention in January 1999. "I am honored to be nominated," said Feynman in her acceptance speech, "although I would prefer a cheeseburger." |
