Grading Policy

GUIDELINES FOR FINAL GRADES (PASS/FAIL): In lieu of a comprehensive final exam in the course upon which to base grades, there are two requirements:

1) Attendance at all lectures is required except for those on outrider rotations or for those who have notified Dr. Zajac of the necessity to miss a class due to extenuating circumstances.

2) Observe a patient at the Craniofacial Center. To facilitate your learning experience, you should choose a patient whose diagnosis is of interest to you, review the patient’s chart prior to clinic, and then follow the patient through the morning appointments. This may be done on either a Tuesday or Thursday morning. Please alert the instructor in advance of the day that you plan to observe.

Additional Course Information

There are eleven (11) full-time faculty members from the Schools of Medicine and Dentistry who have agreed to participate in this course. Most are members of the UNC Craniofacial Team who bring with them a wealth of experience in the management of individuals with craniofacial anomalies. Two of the participants are past presidents of the American Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association (Strauss, Warren).
