The process of developing Micmac's first comprehensive plan began in 1998 with a facilitated visioning process that resulted
in the Micmac Vision document. Task forces composed of
Micmac residents and organization representatives used the vision's core values to guide the drafting of eight
comprehensive plan "elements."
Public participation, one of Micmac's core values, was emphasized at every step of the planning process: via public forums, online discussion boards, and individual mailings.
