Micmac town planners have responded to citizens’ concerns by incorporating core values into each step of the land use planning process. This plan represents a concrete vision for downtown revitalization and establishes design principles that can be applied elsewhere in Micmac. The land use design and small area plans included in this document represent the final spatial elements of Micmac’s land use planning process.
Together with the land classification plan, these maps articulate the town’s vision for growth over the next twenty years.
This chapter of the Land Use Element includes:
*The town-wide Land Use Design map intended to achieve the optimal spatial organization of housing, retail, offices, industrial areas, open spaces, parks, schools, and transportation systems;
*A six block Small Area Plan that transforms a
previously vacant segment of town into the Barron Square mixed-use redevelopment; and
*A transportation plan depicting current and proposed transportation options such as future roads, the Blueberry Transit, and Micmac’s Hupp Memorial bikeway.
