Project 2. Impact of hydrologic and geologic setting on hyporheic exchange |
| The coupled surface-groundwater model of a single in-channel geomorphic structure in a hypothetical stream (see project 1) was extended to look at the impact of a variety of hydrologic and geologic aspects of the stream setting (stream discharge rate, background groundwater discharge rate, depth to bedrock, substrate hydraulic conductivity, streambed slope) on induced hyporheic exchange. Some example results are: |
