Lobbying Disclosure Reports:
This is a collaborative effort by both Frank Baumgartner and Beth Leech to make the 1996 Lobby Disclosure Reports available to the scholarly community.
This paper makes use of these data and reports on the number of lobbyists found to be active on a sample of issues.
The Policy Agendas Project:
This is a collaborative effort by Frank Baumgartner and Bryan Jones to make a variety of systematic historical data concerning American politics and public policy available. The datasets include all congressional hearings, all laws, the entire federal budget, all stories in the CQ Almanac, a sample of stories in the New York Times, and other sources of information. The project covers the period of 1947 to present. The web site allows interactive analysis and the creation of graphs as well as downloading either subsets of the data or the entire datasets.
