Consulting Experience
InteCap, Inc.
(now part of CRA International)
Prior to coming to UNC for graduate school, I spent about two years
working in Chicago, IL as an Analyst for InteCap, Inc., an
economic/litigation consulting firm. During my time at InteCap, I was
staffed on a wide variety of projects from which I gained valuable
experience in a number of practice areas. A few examples of my projects
are described below.
Intellectual
Property Valuation: I was involved with the valuation of a major
motor oil trademark for acquistion purposes. I also worked on a patent
donation valuation project where I used cost-savings analysis to value
multiple patents of a major chemical company and helped draft the
expert report.
Anti-Dumping
Litigation: I was the lead analyst on a precedent setting
litigation matter involving the illegal dumping of foreign printing
presses in the United States. During the case, we quantified
plaintiff damages resulting from price erosion and lost sales due to
the predatory pricing practices of their foreign competitor.
Price
Discrimination Litigation: I was involved in a major price
discrimination case involving the tobacco industry in which our team
used economic analysis to support the defendent's position that the
firm was not practicing price discrimination against its wholesalers,
the plaintiffs in the suit.
Deloitte Consulting
I spent the summer between my junior and senior year of college working
in Cincinnati, OH as a summer intern for Deloitte Consulting. During my
time with Deloitte, I was staffed on a hospital/clinic merger and
acquisition project in which the team recommended process changes
resulting in $10+ million in savings for the supply services division.
