Monday brought us to the Coliseum and the surrounding ruins.

This is a very, very old arch that has great historical significance. But I can't remember what that is exactly.
Here is our group being told about the historically important arch by Ricardo, our Roman guide. Clearly I was too busy taking pictures and not listening.
The view to the right of ancient Roman ruins from the historically important arch.
And the view to the left, which includes the ruins of the original Caesers Palace.
The original ancient Roman road walked on by Julius Caeser and Nero, amongst others.
At last, the Coliseum. I know this is obvious, but it's huge! And when I first caught sight of it, a shock ran through me with the realization that I was seeing something that I had only seen in books a million times.
Walking into the Coliseum.
Ricardo, telling us about the history of the Coliseum. Note that we're all wearing the Whisper™ listening devices. This was much cooler than it looked because it allowed the guide to speak in a normal tone of voice and you could hear everything he was saying.
Marcus, taking a breather from all the ruins.

Hey look Ma, I'm at the Coliseum. Oh wait, I guess my mom took this picture.
The enormity of the inside of the Coliseum.
One more look back over the ancient columns of Rome.
