Here are a
few of my favorite and most useful websites.
Go Tarheels! UNC's website has information
for students, faculty and sports fans, as well as the general public.
From the home page I can check my grades, class schedule, exam scores
and more! You can use the UNC directories to look up the email addresses
and phone numbers of your friends and professors. Linking to the library
allows you to access several great databases for research.
Welcome
to J50 - otherwise know
as Electronic Information Sources. This class is offered in UNC's School
of Journalism and Mass Communication. In this class I have learned how
to make a website using Dreamweaver and how to access information using
electronic sources, such as databases and search engines.
World Camp for Kids! This a wonderful nonprofit organization that
I helped to start last year. World Camp is dedicated to improving the
lives of impoverished children throughout the world through educational
camps. Last summer we went to Southern Africa and held 20 two-day camps
reaching over 2000 children. The camps focused on HIV prevention and AIDS
education, environmental awareness, personal health and arts and crafts.
Google
is my favorite search engine. If you ever need to find information in
a hurry this is the place to go. Just type in a few key words using your
Boolean operators and you're set. Google retrieves links to all the information
you would ever need to know and then some.
The
Weather Channel. Here you can find current weather conditions and
forecast for any where around the world. This is great for travelers as
well as those of us who just want to check the temperature before going
outside in the morning.
