In its most current form, the Hip
Hop Nation (HHN) is a community which shares
cultural features, crosses ethnic and national divides, and operates
separately from, but
largely within, the African-American community.
It is not surprising then, that
as such a community, the HHN shares a language and linguistic
practices which emerge from and are reinforced by the shared
identities of its members.
Conversely, the identities of its members are reinforced by the use of
the shared language and
linguistic features.
