Hello, and welcome to my homepage!  If you've come here looking for information about the movie Dangerous Beauty, or the poet Veronica Franco, you've come to the wrong place!  Although I do write poetry, and I can be considered dangerously beautiful, you would probably be happier looking here.  Even so, you can take a look at some of my papers and poems here.  In fact, my maiden name was Veronica Franco (no my parents did not know whom they were naming me after!).  My group of friends from undergrad years all call me Franco, and I just couldn't see giving up that name.  So, I now have two middle names, and I took my husband's last name.

I am a graduate student in the Genetics curriculum at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill .  I also attended UNC for my undergraduate degree in Biology.    As an undergrad, I worked in the Dangl lab with Petra Epple.  I did a rotation in Bob Bourret's lab, and have decided to stay in Joe Kieber's lab.  I will be receiving my Mater's in May and I will be going (hopefully!) somewhere to study conservation biology in the fall.

My husband, Brad, and I have seven animals.  We have a dog, two cats, two guinea pigs and two lizards...  Some might say our apartment is a small zoo!  Brad majored in Philosophy and Psychology when he was here at UNC.  He is hoping to attend either graduate school in Philosophy or Law School this coming fall.  We were married May 26, 2002 at the Horace Williams House here in Chapel Hill.  I've kept up my old wedding webpage, with a few updates.  Visit it here.
