My name is Gaëlle Le Goff and I am a senior at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Although I grew up in Durham, North Carolina, I am originally from France and Ecuador. My family and I spend every summer and Christmas break visiting the rest of our family in both countries. I am both a French and Ecuadorian citizen, so my friends like to call me Frecuadorian. The fact that I am not a U.S. citizen makes me an alien (permanent resident alien, that is). I graduated from Riverside High School in Durham and then packed my bags to move 10 miles away to Chapel Hill. Growing up in Durham, I was a HUGE Duke fan. Both of my parents attended Duke, which is where they met. Both my sister and I saw the error of their ways and decided to attend their biggest rival school across town. I chose UNC because not only is it a much prettier shade of blue, I didn't want to be a big nerd. I will very soon graduate with a Bachelor's of Arts in Psychology. Psychology was very interesting to study as an undergraduate, but I don't plan on getting my PhD unless my original plan falls through. I hope to attend fashion design school beginning the fall of 2002. I must wait and see to which schools I am accepted, after which I must decide between Los Angeles, New York City, Paris, Barcelona and Milan. I enjoy using my creativity in both designing clothes and writing music. I wrote my first song in seventh grade and performed in front of the entire school. Since then, I have only written a few more songs, but as I will soon have more spare time, I plan on writing more. I have been playing piano since the age of seven, and began giving private lessons in high school. I am proud to say that some of those I taught are now among the best in the state (yeah Adam and Christina)! More recently, I volunteered at Carol Woods Retirement Community and enjoyed playing for the residents once a week. In the past, I also sang, played trumpet and french horn. Most recently, I have tried to teach myself to play guitar, but I locked my guitar in the case and I can't find the key. OOPS! Needless to say, music has always been a big part of my life. Other than music, I enjoy world travel, playing tennis and volleyball, watching ALL sports (except for boxing and ice hockey), shopping, socializing, and napping.
