Q: What the Sam Hill are you doing there, anyway?

A: Primarily, the reason I am here is for my studies, and the reason Jisook is here is that I am here. Actually, I am just a good excuse for her to take a year-long vacation — a much-needed, much-deserved, year-long vacation.  It's a nice break for both of us, but it's not all fun and games.

We've got a few reasons: (click below for more explanation)

Mostly, you've gotta love Spain.  By that I mean, you've gotta love Spain to live here for a year.  It's no picnic, the day-to-day.  We miss the good-ol' American conveniences, but at the same time, when we hear about the latest school shootings, the million-dollar bride game shows and the ever-present Jerry Springer, we're not so eager to come home.  But being fair, we're also not entirely comfortable living in a place where people get molotov coctails on their doorsteps, and where gangs of terrorists ambush and bludgeon the police.  What a world.  We'll keep looking for a sane place.

Q: Are there bulls running constantly running around the streets?

A: No, actually the "running of the bulls" or encierro is limited to the nine-day festival of San Fermín each July. The encierro happens each day at 8AM and is contained within a series of streets in the old district of the city.

Q: Isn’t it dangerous for you to be walking around the city to go to school and all when there’s all those bulls running around?

A: Again, the bulls are just for Sanfermines. We haven’t even seen a bull since we got here. No bull.

Q: Do you have a bull on your ranch?

A: Negative. We have not seen nor do we own any bulls. And we don’t have a ranch either. We live in the city, in a block of flats.

Q: What about an hacienda?

A: No.

Q: And no bulls at all?

A: No.

Q: So all of the cattle you own are female?

A:
