This is my first entry in the journal.  Of course, I should've started this a few months back when we first began.  So, I'll have to play catch up.

A couple of months ago I (Gary, that is) played a solo show.  I did this because the songs I'd been writing were inappropriate for Gumption, another band I'm in.  But, these songs were sort of yearning for some additional instrumentation.  I didn't have a clear picture of what instrumentation, but I knew it was something.... or maybe I was just a chicken and didn't like being on stage alone!

Well, one thing led to another, and all of a sudden there were eight people involved in this group, now called The Mending Wall.  Yep, two trumpets, french horn, violin, oboe, snare, bass, and lil' ol' me.
