My name is Lydia Guterman, and I'm a junior journalism major with a focus in Electronic Communications at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.I created this page for Deb Aikait's class J-50: Electronic Communication Sources. I'm originally from Charlotte but have spent the last few years travelling all over the world, having adventures and meeting wonderful people!

The picture above is of me on the Great Wall of China last February. I spent Spring 2001 studying abroad in Beijing, China on a Burch Field Research Seminar. While there, I studied modern exercise culture and women's body image and learned how to speak very bad Chinese. We (myself and the 14 other UNC students I went with) are in the process of publishing a text book based on our research about popular culture in urban China.
