Biography

"I am the lone locust of the Apocalypse!" (Ok, just kidding!)

I was born in a little town called West Plains, Missouri, in the Midwestern United States. My brother Chris and I are below, in a picture we had made for our Mom. He's really cool.

I went to about 12 schools in 13 years and ended up graduating from high school in another little town called Cave City, Arkansas. Yes, there really is a cave in Cave City.

I went on to college at the University of Central Arkansas (www.uca.edu) in Conway, Arkansas. I was in the Honors College and graduated summa cum laude in both Political Science and Interdisciplinary Studies. I was the Outstanding University Student for the year that I graduated, 1996.

I completed my Master's degree in Political Science at the University of Arizona. I am now studying at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I study the European Union.

I married my husband, Ibrahima (Ibou) in the Summer of 1998. Ibou is from Senegal. Pictures of him and of the wedding are also on the webpage!

I have a cat, Irish , and her picture is below. Click on her picture and you'll see why we call this picture "Cujo."

My brother Chris calls her "Crack Baby" because she is psycho, but we love her crazy little tortie rear.

I consider myself a Southern woman at heart. Remember that there are two sides to a Southern lady-- the side that welcomes you gracefully into her life and the side that makes her mint juleps with mostly straight liquor.

We only lost the battle. We're still fighting the war. (That's me a few years ago doing Civil War reenactment!)

These days I am spending most of my (spare) time playing Ren Faire and collecting children's books.
