ok so i lied in the title of this; this picture's left over from san pedro. it's the church there, at sunset.
and here my failure to pay attention to what kind of film i use shows up again. this is called la portada. it's just a random neat formation north of antofagasta that we swung by on our way back.
another picture, looking another direction at la portada...not the best, but the real view was really nice. there's a mountain out across the bay that looked really neat shrouded in cloud.

it was a gorgeous day in antofagasta when we swung through for the night on the way back. here's anjni in front of el mercado central. the repeating sign behind her is an election poster, they were EVERYWHERE in chile (elections were last sunday, but they were just local elections). there were a lot of really cool ones, for weird parties and such. and now, thankfully, they're all gone.
this is the plaza de armas in antofagasta. the clock tower there is apparently a replica of big ben, and it looks a lot taller in this picture than it really is.
