updates this month speed demon 08.14.05 as the seventh month dies 07.23.05

speed demon 08.14.03 13:58 i actually got a complaint about not updating my blog, whoa! i have readers! i just figured nobody really reads this anymore, but apparently i was wrong. a few minor updates to speak of; the travelers abroad listed under "friendly linkage" now link to their travel blogs, there's one new link under random, and soon there will be new pictures. what inspired this sudden update? the answer is...the internet! i have it now! i was uh...borrowing...from the neighbors' wireless, but they found me and put a password on it. but now i have my own, yay, the cable guy came this morning. he also says that today is my lucky day, that he didn't have the necessary equipment to disable the tv feed, and so we'll get free cable tv. as long as we pay our internet bill on time, nobody should notice. this is exciting. especially combined with the mysterious delivery of the news and observer i've been getting every day. wheeeee free things. in other news, camp is over for the summer! the next time i deal with a roomful of excitable third graders, they won't be MY responsibility, plus they'll be excited because they'll be on a field trip. oh school shows, how i love thee. this morning was actually the first morning i didn't have to go to work in quite some time, and it was refreshing. until i opened the door and found a copy of the new phone book...thanks guys, it's got the star theater on the cover. the planetarium is stalking me. in other other news, berkley cafe is having a blues festival tonight, and we've rounded up a decent size crowd to attend. i might just have to put my veggie urges on hold tonight too, because it's simultaneously a bbq festival and i haven't had any bbq in years and years. in other other other news, i'm leaving tomorrow for west virginia for a week to radio-astronomize at this place. should be pretty awesome, and i hear the hiking's nice around there too. hooray. top

as the seventh month dies 07.23.05 00:35 hello all, that update i promised "tomorrow" back on june 12, i put it up. not done yet with all the pictures from europe; still to come is west germany, a day in france, and eventually london. but there's maybe a half dozen you can look at now if you like. also, the end of july is full of arrivals and departures, so goodbye to those going abroad and yay those that were abroad are coming home soon *happy dance*. and the beginning of august that follows heralds My First Apartment (tm). and there was, and will be, much rejoicing. also also, you should go see charlie and the chocolate factory. johnny depp is creepy, and the movie is most excellent, i think i laughed myself a headache. so go see it. that is all. top
