yeah, cause they're mine. maybe they're not strange per se, but that's just my disclaimer. i'm breaking down and putting something new up here, "the collected works of helen chappell, at least those she sees fit to collect and fake-publish for the small masses on her humble webspace." it doesn't have much in it right now, but hopefully it will grow as i either get better at writing and revising and happier with my work, or grow more desperate to add things here. we'll see. a few of you will be overjoyed to discover that there is correct capitalization in these. i also would like to point out that there are new links, but most of you who frequent my webspace will have seen most of them before. but you can look again if you like. and...yep. happy belated valentines' day to everyone who would want to be wished a happy belated valentine's day. if you don't fall into that category, happy extremely early tuesday morning. and even if you do. right. ok. going away now.

hm. more than a month since i've been here. i haven't really figured out a good way to use this space yet, either. i do in fact have more pictures, but they're still on my camera because i take pictures at the rate of about one every never when i'm home. be patient. if you still care. i don't know if anyone still looks at this even. i'll keep it though, because it makes me feel artsy somehow to have my own website, and what i think is a decently pretty one at that. new links are pending a spree of lonely time wasting in the warm blue glow of my lcd screen, in which i can find some good ones to put here. i don't remember what i was going to say in this update. i didn't have any real manners of business either. oh, except my schedule. it's different now, but i don't feel like changing the page, so i'll just tell you, if you're that determined to know: the 9:30 tr class went away, and now there's 4-6 on mw and 6-7:30 or so on tuesdays. oh right, i think i remember what i was going to say now. i'm getting a decent number of requests from various people to read some of what i'm writing for my creative writing class, as well as other various things i've written (for last year's class and just randomly), so i'll probably pretend to be even more artsy and put some of that up here. mostly because of the same reason i originally decided to create this website, i'm too lazy to email things to lots of people. ah, indolence. speaking of which, that spanish homework of mine...

organized living

i find it sad that i don't organize my stuff or my life, but i do organize my webpage. i had an html epiphany and realized what i was doing wrong when i tried to make table of contents columns on the archive pages, so now there are happy shiny new table of contents columns on the archive pages. i don't really think anyone looks at them anyway, but in case you do, they're now there. and it turns out that i thought i had more pictures left, but i really don't. well i do, but they're on an unfinished roll of film and hence, not quite accessible. those might take ages to appear, as my photo taking frequency drops dramatically when i'm in nc, and it doesn't look like i'll be anywhere else for a good while. i did make it to nj during the holidays, nothing particularly exciting about that but it was good to see family. DON'T TAKE THE TRAIN. it's really slow. driving is faster i promise. maybe not as novel, and maybe a bit more stressful, but wow. on the way home i was trying to be somewhere, and the already 8 hour trip was delayed by 2 hours 15 minutes, most of which we spent standing on the tracks going absolutely nowhere. not fun. hmmm so ok. i'm now in the transition phase where i try to think of good ways to use this page now that i'm home and not doing things quite as exciting. the first way is to stick my schedule on here for any stalkers i may have. it might change, but here it is in all its current glory. mondays and fridays make me happy. aaaannnddd...yeah. that's the only way i've thought of so far. so all you urban renewal people out there, inspire me, how can i renovate my website and keep it vaguely interesting? i should put some new links on for starters, i suppose. a project for another time.
