ice at the edge of the earth

this is the perito moreno glacier, the first glacier i ever saw, but by no means the last...nor the last you'll see. i took a lot of pictures of ice, hopefully i've picked out not a staggering number here for you to look at.

the perito moreno glacier, up close. that blue stuff? it's ice. yeah. ice. and those icebergs? they're pieces that fell off the glacier. we saw a few fall, but none that big. still a very cool thing to watch.

more from the moreno glacier. the big nasty misty clouds you see hovering over the mountains? that was the first rain we'd seen in more than three months. yep, we never once saw rain in chile.

that mountain has a name, but i don't remember it. it's cool though. and so is the glacier.

a view from the forest near the glacier. that white thing you can kind of see is the glacier, plus the mountains and the red flowers are cool and yeah. point being it's really pretty down there in patagonia.

it was cold outside. this is lissa. isn't she cute?

this is...a glacier. i think it's the spegazzini glacier. it's cool though.

me by a lake where there's a lot of ice and a glacier across the way. heh, the hair'll prove it was just a teeny tiny bit windy. and yet with all the ice everywhere, there are nice red flowers blooming. it was kind of weird, actually.

pretty. big mountains, trees, clouds, snow, icebergs...what more does a picture need?
