![]() here we're at the 6.5m walter baade telescope, one of the twin magellan scopes. the guy on the right in the middle of saying something is the assistant director of the place, he showed us around. cool stuff. |
![]() here's all 6.5m of that mirror. it's a shame there's nothing in here for scale, because a 6.5m mirror is HUGE. pretty cool to see it swing around and such. but there are bigger better things to come, wait till i post my vlt pictures. |

![]() yep, looking west from magellan. those are the good and proper high andes way off in the distance. i think we were at an elevation of maybe 7 or 8 thousand feet, not sure. |
