For
our Honeymoon, Kim and I went to the island
paradise of Aruba.
White sands, a warm breeze, relaxation, fun and all the rum you can
consume :) After arriving on the "1" runway, and an hour of customs
lines and baggage claims. We cabbed it to the Tamarijn resort. We got
upgraded, for FREE, to the Divi Divi Resort, which allowed us to use
all the restaurants, activities, etc at both resorts. We had a very nice
room overlooking the ocean and one pool area. clicking on the resort
logos will take you to their own pages for some added picture and
information.
The resort is
all-inclusive so we ate and drank to our fill. The
nightly entertainment was fun with a limbo show, I was the judge ??? and
other festival nights. The food was awesome, especially in some of the
nicer restaurants. But for the most part, Kim and I relaxed and enjoyed
ourselves with daily walks, bike rides, surf and sun.
One day we rented a jeep
to explore the island. The map shown shown below displays
the many things to visit. The whole eastern side of the island is a
desert and rough treading, even for a jeep. I think it was one of the
best times I had in my life, up, down over anything in our paths while
exploring old caves, missionary churchs and just seeing sites like the
natural bridge (picture above).

The Divi trees (Watapana) grow sideways because of the
constant trade winds that blow, about 20 mphs, but warm. The St. Anna
Catholic Church is one of the oldest churchs in the Carribean. It has a
beautiful hand-carved oak altar.
