Kim's parents, Joan and Bob Miller have been great to me.
They are originally from Pittsburgh but now reside in Wilmington, DE. Bob
works for Dupont and golfs as much as he can. Joan designs and
distributes home interiors, holding a Spring and Fall Show out of
their parlor (my southern side showing here), dining room and
just about all the available storage space in their basement. The latest
news from the Miller press is that they have recently bought a Beach House
in Sea Isle, New Jersey. Kim and I are looking forward to many, many
visits and stays with family and friends. It sits only three houses from
the beach, has 5 bedrooms and the pool table and ping pong table will be
there
also.
Kim has two brothers, Bob and Scott, and a younger sister Lauren. Bob
recently got married got married to Phyllis Fairfield, on November 13th of
98. Kim and I were in the wedding and both the ceremony and
reception were
great and fun, a tad too many late nights and malted beverages for many,
but good times all around.
Scott recently graduated from the University of Delaware and is thinking
of Grad School in water resource management in Wyoming, but as long as he
can surf or hike somewhere, he'll
survive. Lauren runs the gamut of youth; gymnastics, running, flute, and
skills that have totally escaped Kim
in her academic excellence, (read: probable
genetic defect that hopefully
won't be
passed on to our kids!), Lauren CAN hit and catch. Sassy, cute and
tough,
she'll be breaking hearts soon.
Kim's Grandparents, Bill and Marie
Lotzmann are the focal point of her mother's family. This family is the
absolute prototype of what one would like in a big Catholic family. They
have the family wave,
the joint vacations, the North Park yearly excursions (pronounced " yense
gowin up ere ta hav a piknik in Nor Parrk") and support and help each
other better than any folk I've ever known. Christmas at Grandma's is
something you just have to see to believe. Presents piled to the ceiling,
Christmas carols, including the Cindy-lead choir of a heartfelt yet iffy
melodic version of the 12 days of Christmas, and great food.
