The
Music Scene
An incomplete list of some "must see" bands
-
Barenaked
Ladies - a wild and crazy band from
Canada, finally making it big on the charts. The spontaneity of these
guys is what makes them such a blast on the concert stage.
-
Eddie from Ohio-
this band, often described as "folkin'
excellent", hails from Richmond, Virginia - so why is Eddie from Ohio?
don't know, but the lead singer, Julie Murphy Wells, has an incredible
set of pipes (despite the fact that she's from Va. Tech). EFO is
on my list of bands to see in concert- put them on your list too!
-
Everything
- this ska band is at the top of the charts these days with "Hooch" -though
they do have much better songs, those of us that were fans even before
they made it big are glad for their success (but now we have to pay more
to see them! ) Concerts are guaranteed to please. (also found on AWARE
1 compilation)
-
Guster
- another band full of humor, these guys met at Tufts University
in Boston, Mass. Drummer Brian Rosenworcel plays the bongos like a mad
man (notice his hands are usually all taped up during a set) and it's just
not over until he cracks a cymbal. (also found on AWARE
3 compilation)
-
Indigo Girls-
out to make a statement and change your life, Amy Ray and Emily Saliers
from Emory University in Georgia have been making music for over a decade...
-
Jackopierce-
unfortunately these sweet and handsome Texas guys ran their last tour in
'97 and decided to call it quits to go on to pursue other endeavors, but
fear not! you can still get their CD, crank it up on your surround sound
system and pretend like your right there at the concert :) (also
found on AWARE
1 compilation)
-
Train-
San Fransisco, CA (also found on AWARE
5 compilation)
