Turbulence

Turbulence is one of the most difficult aspects of fluid flow to measure in the ocean. It is of fundamental importance in controlling circulation in estuaries, on the shelf, and in sea straits, but is also one of the most poorly understood aspects of fluid dynamics. We are involved in a few aspects of studies into turblence - measurement techniques, and its potential impact on acoustic backscatter.
