GROUP 1

This is a Lutheran Sorority at UNC-CH, composed of sisters from many Christian denominations. Approximately 70% of its members attend church on a regular basis. The sorority does not evangelize to the general population on campus, but they share their faith among themselves at Chapter meetings. This is a sorority that begins each rush event and meeting in prayer, in addition to having a devotion at every chapter meeting. All the sisters understand the moral and Lutheran beliefs on which the sorority was founded. There is no alcohol allowed at any event sponsored or cosponsored by the sorority and the sisters are not allowed to come to any function with alcohol in their system. They feel as though their sisterhood is very close because of their common grounding in their faith in God. They hold an optional bible study every Sunday evening and they all attend church together once a month. They also participate in service events within the community.

FOUNDATION: This sorority was founded as a sister sorority to a Lutheran brotherhood and is meant to celebrate the Lutheran heritage.

MOTTO/MISSION STATEMENT: They are gathered together to maintain a high standard, pursue excellence in all endeavors, the guarding of good heath, scholarship, service to Church and community. In addition, to be faithful and energetic Christian leaders, and to celebrate the Lutheran heritage.
