RESEARCH
My research focuses on sociophonetic
variation in Scottish Gaelic. I am currently investigating the
phenomenon known as preaspiration: its distribution in the Northwest
Highlands and islands of Scotland, and variation in its form and
frequency. I am also greatly interested in the revitalization of
Gaelic, and the welfare and vitality of endangered languages
generally.
