university we well as old manuscripts, books, maps and other

numbers, email addresses and hours of operation are available for the
different departments in the central library and for the five branch
libraries. There is a link to the online catalog and a link to a page
with an extensive list of other libraries in Poland. Some have webpages
and some have webpages in English although most do not. Nevertheless,
the list is useful as it is quite comprehensive.
The University Library
of Wroclaw
This library was founded in 1945 and holds over three million
volumes. The collection contains mostly literature relating to the
Humanities and Social Sciences, with a focus on Poland and Library
Studies. The address and hours of operation are provided for the Main

work. According to that menu which is in Polish, there are thirty-eight
branch libraries covering many subject areas. There is no other mention
of the branches anywhere else on this website.

Main Library of the University of
Bialystok
This website provides a lot of helpful and honest information about the
library. One of the first things mentioned on the webpage is the current
shortcomings of the library. A major problem is the location and size of
the library. According to the website, a new one is being
constructed. The library collects literature related to the academic
needs of the university. The major subjects covered are within the
Humanities, Roman Catholic and Orthodox theology as well as the exact
sciences. A concerted effort is given to collecting literature having to
do with minority populations in Poland and other issues of
multiculturalism. The webpage also provides location, contact information
and hours of operation as well as descriptions of the library's policies
and services.
