Week 13 Reading Notes

1. How the material helped: The first reading was written very clearly and I understood it thoroughly, not just because it was a review. I like that web tutorial service, it's been quite helpful.
From the first reading, I had the question, "how does the 'submit' button actually work?" This reading explained it, as usual, in a concise and detailed format.
The fourth reading was thorough, but I didn't understand most of it without trying the different steps as I was reading. I appreciate the list of numbered error messages, though, I'm sure that will come in handy.

2. What I didn't understand: Though the second reading was informative, it still didn't completely answer my question. Is the submit to file simply a blank .html page we create with a "reply_filename" name and in a separate folder? When it says "You may create an empty file using the following command: touch your_filename" what does that mean? I also didn't totally understand the part about Unix commands.
