The projects I have ongoing are related with the causes of inequality in middle-income countries in Latin America:

· In collaboration with Patrick Egan, we are studying the effects of Foreign Direct Investment by economic sector on informality and inequality. (Link directs to MPSA 2008 version of the paper)

           FDI and Inequality, MPSA Version

· I’m also studying the liberal reforms effect on inequality in Latin America. A first draft of this paper was presented at LASA Conference 2009 in Rio de Janeiro.

· In collaboration with Evelyne Huber, we just finished an article about welfare states development and reforms in Latin America for the Oxford Handbook on Comparative Welfare States.

· In terms of my dissertation proposal, I’m focusing on the distributive policies choices by leftist governments in Southern Europe and Latin American middle income countries.
