Concept
The NC Department of Social Services maintains a "Management Assistance" website, which displays information about the performance of the Child Welfare, Work First, and Food & Nutrition Services programs in North Carolina. Our team will produce several tools for streamlining the maintenance of this website. One boottleneck in the maintenance of the site is the need to produce many pages which are similar, but different enough not to be generated from a single SAS/Intrnet file. In order to assist with this process, we are creating a program which will allow the definition of page "templates", and rapidly customizing an existing template to produce a new page.
Three other tools we are considering for development are:
- An easy-to-use bug tracking system
- An easy-to-use system to mine the site's access logs.
- Updating the site's CSS to improve its appearance when printed
