I am a sophomore at the University
of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I am currently an Anthropology
major with a German minor.
I was an International Studies
major, but that changed. I'm living in Ehringhaus
dorm, which is in the campus ghetto, but where I enjoy the healthful 15
minute walk to campus and the frontier atmosphere. You can also see
nature
doing some neat stuff if you pay attention.
And there's something about Ehringhaus. She is like
a ship at sea, where the constant almost sub-sonic throbbing of the engines
becomes a part of the sailors-- almost like a second heartbeat. Is it the
constant running of the elevators, that many lights humming through the
night, or just that many residents breathing, hearts beating, and souls
living which give our fair lady her life?
Besides the excellent academics of UNC, I really
enjoy the various extracurricular activities. I have had the opportunity
to participate in such varied things as Youth for Elderly Services (a committee
of the UNC Y), the Outing
Club, Kyokushin
Karate, and Habitat
for Humanity, not to mention my excellent
experience with Army ROTC.
My side of the room is extensively
decorated. My RA says I should charge admission.
