The University of North Carolina at Chapel
Hill is an internationally recognized academic institution. As a
result, it is host to a
vital international community, as well as a broad American representation
and the culture of the South. While it is the premier
academic institution for the state's university system of 16 public
universities, it is also the oldest public university in the United
States.
Students from other Dojos around the world
have joined Carolina Kyokushin Karate to continue their Karate training
while
studying or working at the University. Among the countries represented
in the Carolina Kyokushin Dojo are: Canada, China,
England, France, Germany, Holland, India, Korea, Japan, Mexico, Peru,
Poland, Russia, Taiwan, and many U.S. states. This
dynamic exchange places the Carolina Kyokushin Dojo in touch with other
Dojos around the world to provide mutual support for
international Kyokushin students.
Carolina Kyokushin Karateka (karate students)
are a diverse group from all walks of life who, together, support one another
in
serious, consistent, and year-round Karate training. Guided by
the American Kyokushin Leadership in New York City, the
instructor relies on the experienced Karateka to help in acclimating
new students to the Dojo. Whether beginning Karate for
the first time or renewing their training, this ensures that they have
a smooth transition into the Dojo and a solid foundation for
their further Karate training. Through this support, the instructor
is free to concentrate on the individual training needs of each
student so that they can gain the most from their training time in
each individualized Dojo training session.
