DRAMA

The first Drama involvement I remember (aside from Church Pageants and things) was being an urchin in "Oliver Twist" when I was in the second grade. I was then the Major General in "The Pirates of Penzance" in fourth grade and another orphan in "Annie" in fifth grade. Then I was the Court Reporter in "Alice in Wonderland" in sixth grade and a solo singer in a collection of songs done in seventh grade.
I wasn't really involved in Drama for a while after that. Then in tenth grade I went with a Scouting friend of mine to see the musical "Anything Goes" done by our High School Drama Department. I was really impressed, and so the next year I auditioned for the first thing I could get into, and wound up as the King in "Cinderella Wore Combat Boots". I was then in the Variety show, was Lucretio in "The 15-Minute Hamlet", and was Timothy the Butler in "The Secret Garden".
The next year I was Van Ripper and played guitar in "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow", played guitar in the Variety show, was Tranio in "The Taming of the Shrew", was Zoot Doubleman (the Band Director) in "1940's Radio Hour", was Roger in "Grease", and was in some seminar plays.
I didn't get involved in Drama until my Junior year, and was in Honors Drama my Senior year--I really made Drama my life. It was worth it. I still enjoy going back and visiting, and can't express how important Drama was to me right now, so I'll write more later.
